Changes to bin services & transfer station hours over the holidays

Enviro NZ wishes all our customers safe and happy holidays.


With the festive season upon us, public holidays will impact some of our services. Please refer to the guide below for any changes in your area.

 

If your branch, resource recovery centre, fill site or commercial facility is not included below, please call them directly.

You can also call our customer care team on 0800 240 120 or visit https://environz.co.nz/contact-us for any urgent requests or queries on Mon – Fri from 8am to 5pm (excluding holidays).

 

Customer care will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day & Day after New Year’s Day.

  • Thursday 26 Dec - Only General Waste and High-Volume Recycling Services will be operating, all other services will be collected on their next scheduled collection day
  • Friday 27 Dec - Our office will be open and all services will be operating. Any General Waste and Mixed Recycling customers that were closed on the public holiday will be caught up on this day
  • Wed 1st Jan and Thu 2nd Jan - Only General Waste and High Volume Recycling Services will be operating, all other services will be collected on their next scheduled collection day
  • Fri 3rd Jan - Our office will be open and all services will be operating. Any General Waste and Mixed Recycling customers that were closed on the public holiday will be caught up on this day

 

Dunedin

    • All services will operate one day later from Christmas day ( 25th will be collected on the 26th , 26th will be collected 27th and the 27th collected on the 28th )
    • The recycle centre will be closed on 25 Dec, 26 Dec and 2 Jan.

     

    Palmerston North

    Transfer Station CLOSED 25th December and 1st January

    • Collections due on Wednesday 25th December will be done on Saturday 28th December

    Rotorua

    Office will be CLOSED 25 & 26 Dec and 2 & 3 Jan

    As a first step in developing its Multi Access Edge Compute capabilities, Spark has taken a Qrious-developed AI-powered computer vision pilot for Enviro NZ and enhanced it with 5G connectivity and local edge computing (AWS Snowball Edge). The pilot of the computer vision system helps solve a key business issue for Enviro NZ at its resource recovery centre identifying health and safety risks.
