North Shore's yellow bag service has ended

The bagged rubbish collection service operated by Enviro NZ in the North Shore came to an end on 1 March 2024.

Our yellow EnviroWaste branded pre-paid rubbish bags are no longer being sold, and we are no longer collecting yellow bags from kerbside.

If you have any questions about the closure of our yellow bag service, please get in touch by calling our team on 0800 240 120, or by emailing us at enquiries@environz.co.nz.

Enviro NZ would like to thank our North Shore customers for all their support over the years.

What does this mean for me?

While we are no longer providing this service, there are other options you may wish to explore.

  • Auckland Council offers a "pay-as-you-throw" bin-tag service on the North Shore
  • Many North Shore households already have an Auckland Council 140L rubbish bin. To order a new bin or request a replacement, visit the Auckland Council website for more information.

If you are a North Shore customer and have any remaining yellow bags, please get in touch with our customer service team for assistance. Alternatively, you may wish to drop off full yellow bags at our Constellation Drive Resource Recovery Centre or Patiki Road Transfer Station for free disposal.

Why did you stop your yellow bag service?

Enviro NZ supports New Zealand’s shift to kerbside standardisation, which will be introduced from this year. This will see Auckland move to one consistent rates-funded rubbish service, with bins replacing bags.

Will you continue to offer a pre-paid yellow bag service in Franklin?

Yes, our yellow bag service for Franklin residents will continue as normal and is unaffected by the change to our North Shore operations.
