Enviro NZ is proud to announce a new partnership with Save the Kiwi, New Zealand’s leading kiwi conservation charity. As a top-tier sponsor of the “Kiwi on the Move” programme, Enviro NZ is helping protect and relocate kiwi, ensuring this iconic species thrives across the country.
Since 2000, New Zealand’s kiwi population declined from around 70,000 to 63,000 by 2020. Thanks to dedicated conservation efforts, numbers have rebounded slightly to an estimated 65,000 today, but there is still work to be done. This partnership will contribute to the translocation of kiwi to predator-free habitats, supporting breeding programmes, predator control, and community-led conservation projects.
A Tangible Impact
“At Enviro NZ, we are committed to making a positive impact on New Zealand’s environment,” says CFO Jason Miles. “Partnering with Save the Kiwi allows us to support a national icon and work toward a future where kiwi can thrive across the country.”
Through this initiative, Enviro NZ and Save the Kiwi are helping move kiwis to safer homes, protect ecosystems, and preserve a symbol of Aotearoa for generations to come.
